Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Closed Beta Weekend Coming in October

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide gets a closed beta weekend from October 14th through the 16th. Fatshark’s four player co-op Warhammer game will invite PC players to visit Tertium Hive City for the weekend and test out the game. A fun weekend, maybe, but also designed to be a challenge.

With Warhammer 40,000: Darktide set for release on PC on November 30th (after being pushed back slightly), this coming closed beta weekend looks to be part of the final phase of polish before launch. If you’ve played Vermintide or Vermintide 2, then you should be familiar with how Fatshark approaches the Warhammer IP and how they do combat.

If you’re a Warhammer fan then expect some of the races and weapons you know, balance melee and ranged combat with your team, and fight off hordes to take back the city of Tertium. It won’t be a scenic leisurely weekend if you join in, since it’s Warhammer, and the dystopian environments are real, from factories on fire to acid rain destroying the water maintenance zones, you’ll have to serve the Inquisition and defeat any threats you find.

With the game already open for pre-orders, it’s also an opportunity for players to get in there and see what it’s like before lunch. There will be two versions, the standard and the Imperial Edition.

The standard edition is $39.99 and includes the game, and two cosmetics, a weapon trinket and a portrait frame. The Imperial Edition is $59.99 and includes those items and several other cosmetics, some premium currency, and the Loyalist Pack, which includes class outfits, weapon skins, and more.

If you’re looking forward to the game and want to test out the beta in October, Fatshark promises concentrated action in the weekend beta test. They’re still taking signups over at the Warhammer 40,000: Darktide site.
