MultiVersus Already Has More Players Than Any PC Fighting Game

MultiVersus is doing shockingly well for a fighting game, but what is more impressive is that the game isn’t even out of early access yet, and is already garnering such an outstanding response.

The game isn’t just doing well; it is breaking records for concurrent players on Steam when compared to other popular fighting games on the platform. And according to EventHubs, it is doing better than all other fighting games on PC combined.

Steam Charts is an online tracker which tracks the online player statistics on Steam. And according to its numbers, MultiVersus has an average of 38,000 players at any given time and has reached a peak of almost 62,000 at the time of writing.

This makes it the most played fighting game on PC, and it handily beats fighting game juggernauts like Tekken 7 and Street Fighter V.

The titles that MultiVersus overtook are not just limited to Street Fighter V and Tekken 7, but also Brawlhalla, DNF Duel, Mortal Kombat 11, Guilty Gear Strive, King of Fighters 15, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, and a few other big names.

The next most popular games after MultiVersus are Brawlhalla with ~12,000 players, Tekken 7 with ~4,4oo players, and the recently released DNF Duel with ~2,800 players. The only game to even come close to peak numbers is Dragon Ball FighterZ because when it was hitting its peak numbers, it totaled over 44,000 players.

Future of MultiVersus

MultiVersus is currently in beta, with only those being able to play who have either signed up for Evo 2022, purchased a Founder’s Pack, participated in previously closed alpha tests, or watched a one-hour Twitch stream of the game.

When it officially launches, it will perform even better because of its immaculate execution. The game is not only Free-to-Play, but will also launch on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S with cross-platform play between all systems. The game will soon be available for open beta on July 26, so if you are interested but couldn’t get a chance to play before, sign up for the beta tomorrow.
